Below are the current Compass Courses offered at GracePoint.
Compass Course
Starts Sunday, January 19th
To coincide with the launch on January 12th of Part II of our Sunday morning series on the Old Testament book of Exodus, Pastor Steve will be leading a Compass Course every other Sunday at 6 pm beginning Sunday, January 19th. This is an opportunity to dig deeper, exploring the background to the text, the meaning of its key terms, and the significance of its message for you and me today.
Exodus describes Israel’s journey from slavery to freedom — the journey the rest of Scripture uses as a reminder of our spiritual path from the slavery of sin to freedom from guilt through the grace of our Saviour.

How To Reach Out To Others With The Gospel
Book Study
This Compass Course Intensive is based on the book, Biblical Critical Theory, by Christopher Watkin. Critical theories exist to critique what we think we know about reality and the social, political, and cultural structures in which we live. In doing so, they make visible the values and beliefs of a culture in order to scrutinize and change them. Biblical Critical Theory exposes and evaluates the often-hidden assumptions and concepts that shape late-modern society, examining them through the lens of the biblical story running from Genesis to Revelation.
This Course is currently meeting online every other Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 pm, and involves watching a roughly 30 minute video lesson featuring Christopher Watkin, followed by discussion of the presentation as well as the corresponding chapter of the book. Please register below if you’d like to join with us.
NB. Participants are encouraged to order their own copy of the book available from Amazon.ca, and Indigo.ca in print and ebook formats, but having the book is not required.
